NFC Cards for Trade Shows and Exhibitions in India

You have paid for the booth, printed the standees, and packed five hundred visiting cards for a three-day expo. By day two the cards are half gone, and you honestly cannot say where. Visitors took them, smiled, and walked into an aisle where forty other exhibitors were waiting to hand them the same thing.

This is the quiet problem with trade shows and exhibitions in India. The footfall is real. The connections mostly are not.

What actually happens to the card you hand out

Watch a visitor at any exhibition in Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru between September and December, when the expo calendar gets crowded. They collect cards and pamphlets in the cloth bag the organiser gave them at the gate. That bag goes home, sits near the shoe rack for a week, and then most of it goes out with the raddi.

Your card was in that bag.

The visitor who genuinely liked your product now has to dig the card out, read your number correctly, type it into their phone, and remember why they saved it. Every one of those steps loses people. Not because they did not care. Because the process asks too much of someone who met sixty exhibitors in one day.

How NFC cards work at a trade show

An NFC card flips the direction of the exchange. Instead of giving the visitor something to carry, you put your details straight into the one thing they will not throw away — their phone.

The visitor holds their phone near your card. Their browser opens your TapAll profile: your name, company, WhatsApp number, catalogue links, website, whatever you have added. They save the contact or message you on the spot, while they are still standing at your booth and still interested. No app is needed on their phone or yours.

The chip on the card stores only a short link. Your actual details live in your TapAll profile, which you can edit from the dashboard at any time — so you can add a new brochure link or fix a detail mid-expo if you need to.

Why capturing it at the booth is the whole point

The gap between the expo and the follow-up is where leads die. If a visitor walks away with a paper card, the connection depends on what they do three days later, at home, with a full bag. If they tap and save your contact, or send you a WhatsApp saying hello from the booth, the connection exists before they take a single step away.

You will also know it happened. The TapAll dashboard shows simple tap and view counts, so after the show you can see how many people actually opened your profile. A stack of paper cards can never tell you that — you only know how many you gave out, never how many worked.

For a full team working a booth, TapAll also makes an Event / Exhibition NFC Badge at ₹199, which does the same job in badge form and suits an expo lanyard better than a card in a pocket.

Get the profile ready before the hall opens

The card is only as useful as the profile behind it, so set it up for expo mode a week or two in advance. Put your WhatsApp number first, because that is how Indian trade enquiries actually move. Then a link to your catalogue or price list, your website, and your booth number in the description if the organiser has allotted one.

Because the chip only carries a short link, you can change all of this without touching the card. Plenty of exhibitors sharpen their profile after day one, once they hear what visitors keep asking for.

The honest caveats

Two things are worth knowing before you order. Very old phones without NFC exist, and at a public expo you will meet a few of them. That is what the QR code printed on every card and badge is for — the visitor scans it and lands on the same profile.

And a tap does not qualify a lead. It captures the connection cleanly; the selling is still yours to do. What changes is that your follow-up list is now made of people who have your correct details saved in their phones, instead of a bag of hope sitting near somebody's shoe rack.

Before your next show

If you have a trade show coming up this season, sort this out a couple of weeks early, so profiles are ready and tested before the hall opens. Message TapAll on WhatsApp at +91 97133 49930 with your expo date and team size, and they will help you decide between cards and badges. TapAll ships across India from Indore.
