How to Set Up a Google Review NFC Card (15-Minute Guide)
Chetan Singh29 Oct 20267 min read
Setting up a Google review NFC card takes about 15 minutes, and there is nothing to activate. Copy your review link from Google Business Profile, send it to TapAll on WhatsApp, and the card arrives with that link on the chip and the QR printed. Then do one test tap, keep the card at the counter, and give staff the one sentence they may say. If a tap does nothing, the short fix table at the end covers it.
This guide covers setup only. If you are still deciding whether a review card is worth it, read How NFC Google Review Cards Get You More 5-Star Reviews first; it is the why, this is the how.
We sell NFC cards, so read this knowing that. This is the setup and support manual for the Google Review NFC Card; the wider case for collecting reviews is in How to Get More Google Reviews. Five steps follow, with the time each takes, then a short fix table. Every Google, Apple, Android and Samsung detail below is from their help or developer pages as of 17 October 2026; they change menus and rules, so check the linked page if something looks different.
Step 1: Get your exact Google review link (5 minutes)
Sign in to the account that manages your listing, open your Business Profile, select Read Reviews, then Get more reviews, then Copy (route as on Google's help page, as of 17 October 2026). Three ways to get the link, and how to test it, are in How to Get Your Google Review Link and QR Code.
Step 2: Send the link on WhatsApp; nothing to activate (2 minutes)
Message +91 97133 49930 with your review link and business name. We confirm the shape, size and design on WhatsApp before printing. The link is programmed onto the chip and the QR printed in Indore, then it ships by tracked courier: 5 to 7 days anywhere in India, shipping free.
So the answer to "how to activate a Google review card" is that there is no activation: no app, no pairing. What people call activation is the test tap in Step 3. If your listing or link changes later, message us on WhatsApp.
Price and box contents are in Google Review Card Price in India.
Step 3: Test it yourself before a customer does (3 minutes)
iPhone (XS or newer). Screen on, and unlocked at least once since the last restart. Hold the top edge of the iPhone against the card. A notification slides down; tap it and the review page opens. Apple's developer documentation lists five blockers: never unlocked since restart, another NFC session running, Wallet or Apple Pay in use, the camera open, or Airplane mode on. iPhone X, 8 and 7 have no background reading, so use the QR on them.
Android. NFC on and phone unlocked; Android's developer documentation says phones usually look for tags only when the screen is unlocked and NFC is on. Hold the back of the phone flat on the card; the antenna may be near the top or bottom, so if nothing happens, shift the phone and hold it closer. On most phones the review page opens by itself. Android 17 shows an "Open link" notification first and opens the page only when tapped; to a customer that looks like a failed tap, so tell your staff.
QR. Open the camera app, point it at the printed code and tap the link. This covers phones without NFC.
A sign-in screen is not a fault. Google requires reviewers to be signed in, so a sign-in page after the tap means the card is working.

Step 4: Keep it where the customer pays (1 minute)
Put the card flat where the customer's hands already go: next to the card machine, the UPI code or the bill tray. Customer's side, printed side up, nothing on top. A card under the bill book collects no reviews.
This step is short on purpose. Placement by table, counter and billing desk is covered in Google Review NFC Card for Restaurants: Where to Put It, and if your counter is busy and the card keeps getting buried, a Google review stand holds its place all day.
Step 5: Brief your staff with a Google-safe script (4 minutes)
Google's Maps user-contributed content policy allows asking for reviews of a genuine experience and bans anything that steers the rating or the wording. So the script is one sentence, said to every customer the same way.
Say this, and only this: "If you have a minute, you can tap your phone here to leave us a Google review."
Five things staff must never do, tied to Google's wording:
- 1No discounts, gifts or free items for a review. Google's Maps content policy lists payment, discounts and free goods in exchange for a review under fake engagement, which it says is not allowed and will be removed.
- 2No "please give 5 stars" and no suggested wording. The policy says merchants may not try to influence the rating or the contents of the review, nor request that specific content be included.
- 3No picking only the happy customers. The policy bans merchants who "selectively solicit positive reviews from customers". Offer the card to everyone.
- 4No review targets per employee. The policy names "staff solicit a certain number of reviews" as a violation.
- 5No standing over them, and no "mention my name". Merchants should not pressure customers to review while on the premises, nor ask for content that identifies a staff member. Say the line and step back.
Customers tap with their own phone, never the shop's tablet; Google's policy flags unusual patterns of reviews, and many reviews from one device is one.

Google review NFC card not working: fixes in order
Three things look like a fault on a review card and are not. Check these first.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Page asks for Google sign-in | Customer not signed in | Normal. Google requires a signed-in account to review. |
| Android shows a notification, no page | Android 17 "Open link" notification | Tap the notification. Not a fault. |
| Page opens the wrong business or an error | Wrong link programmed, or your listing changed | WhatsApp us a screenshot. If we programmed the wrong link, report it within 7 days with photos and the card is replaced or refunded under the refund policy; if your listing changed, we will tell you how to update the card. |
Every other failed tap is the phone: NFC off, screen locked, wrong spot, a thick case, or an iPhone with the camera open. Work through NFC Card Not Working? A 10-Second Fix Checklist. It has the NFC setting path for each Android brand and the iPhone blockers, in the order to try them.
Anything else: send a short video of the tap on WhatsApp.
Frequently asked questions
How do I activate a Google review NFC card?
You do not. The link is on the chip and the QR printed before shipping. Do one test tap with NFC on and the screen unlocked; if the review page opens, it works.
Do customers need an app or a Google account?
No app, on any phone. A Google account, yes: Google requires reviewers to be signed in, so a sign-in screen after the tap is normal.
What if my review link or listing changes later?
Message +91 97133 49930 on WhatsApp with the new link and your order details. The card is re-programmed with the new link. Do one test tap afterwards, as in Step 3, before it goes back on the counter.
Customer ka phone tap nahi kar raha?
Sign-in screen aur Android 17 ki "Open link" notification fault nahi hain; baaki har failed tap phone ki wajah se hota hai, isliye NFC Card Not Working? A 10-Second Fix Checklist ke steps follow karein.
Is it allowed to ask customers for Google reviews?
Yes. Google's policy allows asking for reviews of a genuine experience. Not allowed: incentives, asking for a rating or wording, asking only happy customers, staff targets, or pressuring customers before they leave.
