NFC Visiting Card Without Subscription: What You Buy
Chetan Singh28 Oct 20268 min read
Yes, you can buy an NFC visiting card with no subscription. Every NFC business card is two things, a chip and the online profile it points to, and every monthly plan, yearly validity or renewal fee is a charge for the profile. So the real question is what the profile includes for free, and what happens to the card in your wallet if you never pay again.
We sell NFC cards, so read this knowing that. Rupee prices tier by tier are in NFC card price in India; this post covers the plan behind the card, the three ways a plan can end, and eight questions to ask before you pay.
The chip only holds a link, so whoever hosts the profile holds the switch
An NFC business card chip stores one small record, almost always a web address. Your name, number and Save Contact button sit on a web page that somebody hosts, and a tap opens that page.
This is why a card can look perfect and still stop working. If the host switches the page off because a plan ended, a tap opens an error or an upgrade prompt; the plastic has not changed, the link behind it has. Blinq, which sells subscriptions alongside its cards, puts "No subscription needed" on its NFC cards page and says every order includes a Blinq profile, free forever; its pricing page gives the Free plan two cards (blinq.me, as of 17 October 2026). Ask every seller for an answer that plain, including us.
NFC visiting card with no subscription: the three pricing models in India
Most NFC visiting cards sold in India fit one of three paid patterns; the fourth row is the one-time model.
| Model | How you pay | What the fee buys | Where you see it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free app tier plus paid upgrade (USD) | Optional, per month or per year | Extra cards, analytics, contact scanner, contact export, branding; on HiHello, NFC card programming is listed under the paid plan | Blinq, HiHello, Popl |
| Card plus yearly validity | A yearly fee, card included | The profile stays live for 12 months, then you renew | Some Indian sellers |
| Card plus optional paid tier | One-time card, add-on plan each year | Extra features over a free basic profile | Some Indian sellers |
| One-time card, free profile | One payment for the card | Profile, editing and features, no renewal | TapAll and a few other Indian brands |
Each of the three has a free tier, but only one of them says in plain words that a bought card works on it. On their websites, as of 17 October 2026: Blinq says its NFC cards need no subscription; its Free plan allows two cards, and Premium at $9.99 a month ($7.33 a month billed annually) goes up to five cards with a contact scanner and contact export. HiHello's pricing page lists "NFC card programming" under its paid Professional plan at $6 a month or $72 a year, and does not mention NFC on the free Personal plan, which covers QR, widget, email and WhatsApp sharing and 5 paper-card scans a month. Popl's pricing page does not say whether its devices work on a free plan, and does not publish plan prices; it says it quotes pricing over a meeting. Prices change, so check the current page before you buy.
The free-app route is covered in free digital card apps vs a physical NFC card. In the two Indian bundle models, part of your money buys time on the seller's server, and the clock restarts every year.
What actually happens when you stop paying
Product pages do not show this part. Three outcomes are documented.
- 1You drop to a capped free tier. On their websites, as of 17 October 2026: Popl says a Pro or Pro+ subscription cancelled through an app store automatically downgrades the account to the free version at the end of the billing cycle, and Blinq's pricing page caps the Free plan at two cards against five on Premium, so extra cards are what you give up.
- 1The card itself goes dead. V1CE's support site, as of 17 October 2026, says a card that used to work and then stopped is most likely a free trial card tied to a legacy V1CE Plus subscription. Those cards only work while that subscription is active, with no free-plan fallback. The same page says standard cards bought on v1ce.co keep working with no paid subscription, so this applied only to trial cards. The point stands: when the card is part of the plan, the plan ending kills the link.
- 1The vendor stops the service. MOO, the printing company, discontinued its NFC business cards in March 2020, and its support page states that actions already programmed on those cards stopped working from January 2023; owners can only reprogram them with a third-party app (support.moo.com, as of 17 October 2026). A card is only as permanent as the company behind the link.
The rule: before you pay, find out in writing which of the three happens to your card the day the plan ends. If the seller cannot answer, assume the second one.
Is there a free NFC visiting card?
Nobody gives away the plastic; what can be free is the profile. With a free app the card is extra or absent; with a one-time card you pay for the plastic once and the profile costs nothing after that. Read "free" on any listing as "free profile, paid card", then ask for how long.
How a no-subscription NFC visiting card works at TapAll
You pay for the card once and the profile is free for as long as you use it. There is no paid plan, so there is nothing to downgrade from and no feature that switches off. What that includes:
- The Premium NFC Business Card, a PVC visiting card with an NFC chip and a printed QR code, costs ₹1,199 as of October 2026; prices can change, so check the product page or price list.
- A digital business card with no monthly fee and no yearly fee, ever.
- Edit everything yourself at tapall.in/dashboard and the next tap shows the change; steps are in how to update your NFC card.
- The card holds one short link, so it never needs reprinting.
- 22 switchable designs, a toggle to hide the TapAll logo and link, and tap and view counts, all included.
Free tracked delivery in 5 to 7 days anywhere in India, and UPI payment; the rest is on how it works. Teams get a same-day bulk quote on WhatsApp, each employee with their own editable profile; start at contact.

Questions people ask
Are there NFC cards with no subscription?
Yes. Several Indian brands, including TapAll, sell the card once with a free profile. Many sellers now say "no subscription", so check what the free profile includes and whether it stays editable.
Is there a yearly fee for an NFC card?
Some Indian sellers bundle the card with a yearly validity plan, some offer an optional paid tier, and the global apps charge in USD per month for extras. Ask for the figure in writing. A one-time card has no fee; TapAll's profile has none.
What happens if I stop paying for my digital business card?
One of three things: you drop to a capped free tier, the card stops opening your profile, or the vendor shuts the service. It depends on who controls the link.
NFC card me yearly charge hota hai kya?
Seller ke hisaab se. Kuch sellers profile ke liye yearly plan lete hain, aur kuch apps monthly USD me charge karti hain, isliye fee likhit me poochhiye. TapAll me koi yearly ya monthly charge nahi hai: card ek baar kharidiye, profile hamesha free rehti hai, aur aap tapall.in/dashboard se khud edit kar sakte hain.
Do I pay again when my details change?
On a one-time card with an editable profile, no. You change the number in the dashboard and the same card shows it on the next tap. If a seller charges for edits or a design change, that is a fee by another name; question 3 asks about it.
